5 reasons why Kashiwazaki Sena SHOULD and WILL win Haganai.

Here’s 5 reasons of why I believe Sena will win Haganai and also why she’s the best girl IN Haganai.

[Mazui]_Boku_Ha_Tomodachi_Ga_Sukunai_NEXT_-_09_[E19E0537].mkv_snapshot_12.42_[2013.03.08_16.34.54]

Reason 1 – Family relations.

As little of a factor people may think this is, it’s actually a BIG factor. As shown in the recent episodes of Haganai having both their parents know each other can result in some pretty scary stuff. Those who have watched the recent episodes will know what I mean. As for those who haven’t to prevent spoiling you I won’t talk about it but just know it plays a huge role in the story and relation ship of Sena and Kodaka.

Reason 2 –  Interactions

This goes all the way back to season 1 where she went on a “date” with Kodaka to an indoor swimming area. Compared to all the girls in Haganai no one comes close to how much Sena has interacted with Kodaka. Sena has a load more 1 on 1 interactions with Kodaka than any of the other girls and this is a huge factor in the relationship they build.

[Mazui]_Boku_Ha_Tomodachi_Ga_Sukunai_NEXT_-_09_[E19E0537].mkv_snapshot_15.23_[2013.03.16_02.45.41]

Reason 3 – The ONLY “obstacle” in her way practically removed.

By the only “obstacle” I mean the only person who even comes close with the relationship she has with Kodaka is Yozora. That is ONLY because they met each other earlier and are “childhood” friends. However, in season 2, it reveals that Sena actually knew and hung out with Kodaka since they were babies. Not only is this strengthening the bond between Sena and Kodaka but it also weakends the bond between him and Yozora. As sad as Yozora’s past with Kodaka is, you need to remember that in the past, Yozora was saw as an male friend. There was no feelings of love at all whatsoever in the past.

[Mazui]_Boku_Ha_Tomodachi_Ga_Sukunai_NEXT_-_04_[14FE887E].mkv_snapshot_11.16_[2013.03.16_02.44.38]

Reason 4 –  Kobato-chan

People think that just because Sena is obsessed with Kobato it doesn’t mean anything, I’m here to say that it DOES mean something. The closer Sena gets to Kobato, the closer she gets to Kodaka. As an example, in the episode where the entire club goes to the amusement park, there is a scene where people mistaken’d Sena and Kodaka as an couple. Even if it was a misunderstanding the fact that there was even a scene like this already makes the competition lean in Sena’s favor and all of this is BECAUSE of Kobato. Like they all say, if you want to get close to someone a good way is to get close to people they’re close to.

[Mazui]_Boku_Ha_Tomodachi_Ga_Sukunai_NEXT_-_09_[E19E0537].mkv_snapshot_17.59_[2013.03.16_02.47.13]

Reason 5 – The direction of the story.

What do I mean by the direction of the story? In season 2 the story has definitely progressed a lot more than season 1. Not only has to progressed for Sena, it has for many of the other rinjin-bu members. This includes Rika, the Nun, Yozora, and Yukimura. Shoving most of the members aside, it’s obvious enough that only 2 out of them will be chosen and the 2 are Sena and Yozora. Both have progressed A LOT through out season 2 but I believe that Sena has progressed way more. Setting the fiance letter fiasco aside, it seems to me that Sena DOES like Kodaka and Kodaka DOES realize this along with the fact that Yozora and the other’s like him too. I’m only positive of that because of the conversation Kodaka had with Rika on the roof in episode 10, shows and proves a lot. A lot of season 2 seems to bring out the Kodaka x Sena especially when the characters in the show itself have a misconception of the 2 dating. (This referrers to the whole misunderstanding that Sena’s father created where he spreaded false information around the entire school saying that her daughter was dating Kodaka.)

[Mazui]_Boku_Ha_Tomodachi_Ga_Sukunai_NEXT_-_06_[3947814D].mkv_snapshot_10.51_[2013.02.15_17.29.38]

In general I am a big Sena fan and I would never change sides no matter what happen’d(Well, for the most part lol). The confidence I have in her winning may come from the fact that I have read the light novel but part of me also just know’s that she’ll win Hagani. Many people like Yozora better just because they have a past and it’s “tragic” that the 2 were separated from each other when they were very young BUT, as I have stated before, the fact that Kodaka knew her as a male in the past kind of shows that’s he never thought of her that way and was only interested in becoming friends or even best friends. I also hate her because she has A LOT of jealousy and likes to say stuff to spite Sena. Really annoying to see her do stuff like that, it’s fucked up and just shows how much of a bitch she is. It’s almost as if she doesn’t care at all. Anyways, that’s the 5 reasons I could come up with 2:40 AM at night, I could probably write a lot more and come up with better reasons but /effort.

This is a repost from Haruhichan as I feel that I kind of did put a lot of effort in this post so it had to be on my blog too! 😮

1 – Kodak’s dad knows that meat’s dad jumps to conclusions, hence doesn’t take him seriously.

2 – She still looks down on other people, which I think will prove her downfall.

3 – Her “childhood” might as well not exist since Kodak doesn’t remember jack shit about it.

4 – Kobato hates her guts. I bet she’ll give Kodak an “anyone but Meat” ultimatum.

5 – He’ll reject he come next volume, I wager.

6 – Useless meat is useless.

In first season it was pretty much the reunion of Yozora-san and Kodaka-kun, while meeting others and becoming friends. But Yozora-san was interacting with Kodaka-kun a lot more than Sena-san did in season 2, even though they found out that Sena-san and Kodaka-kun had past as well, when this season suppose to be her spotlight.
However, Sena-san still continue to do the things she likes, play her ecchi/sim dating games and having fetish over Yozora-san (bedroom of Sena-san room, with those pictures on the ceiling and the sniffing the wig) and not forgetting Kodaka-kun sister, Kobato-chan who has been attacked by Sena-san several occasions in both seasons so far. I could list many, but everyone can just watch the anime from season 1 or read novel to know them all, in what she did to Kobato-chan by sexual assaulting her.

Anyhow, the point being is that all the characters in this story have their own problems to over come and to also to finally realise that they are all friends. Since this story is about friends.

Before anyone trolls this, Rika-san is the only gal that has so far being so up front with Kodaka-kun and has pretty much admit in liking him, and with the talk they had on the roof in season 2 she so far stands out the most, even with her pervert side, she is the can be serious and most reliable. By reliable I meant with the Yukimura incident and doing the editing for their movie, which is really time consuming to do and of course a few other things.

Before I forget, at least Yozora-san wanted Kodaka-kun to be the part of the movie and have a role, while Sena-san had her eyes set on Kobato-chan to be in a movie instead of him. You all remember Sena-san all time line in this season, with what she said about Yozora-san and Kodaka-kun childhood past, which really got to Yozora-san. Since the past was really important to Yozora-san, but anyone can write down a list, and it is endless truly endless.

In comparison, even though Sena knows Yozora likes Kodaka as well, she doesn’t do anything out of her way to annoying and aggravate her like Yozora. That is the comparison I’m trying to make. Although I don’t like Yozora as much as all the other characters I never said I HATED her and that she was a shit character in itself.

Yozora-san is indeed jealous of the situation, and with how timid she can be with showing her true affection to Kodaka-kun. She has had a hard time showing that she love Kodaka-kun, and reasoning being is because there are others who have set their on eyes on Kodaka-kun. So there is competition and Yozora-san is feeling the burn shall we say, since it it not in her pace, in other words it’s not in her control. Many might know how fragile a girl heart can be, even to the point of being very destructive.

Out of jealous many can say many things, but Sena-san has had her come back as well to Yozora-san, they might not be as even as her so far.

Sena-san has many girls jealous of her cause of academically and athletically, to many she is a perfect girl in retrospect, but of course the viewer and reader knows that it’s not true, as she has hidden side to her that other students and teacher know of her.

          2. JustSaying

            Totally agree with Gin here.

Dao just saying whatever they want cause Dao is a Sena fan. Even twisting season 1 as just a character introduction.

Quotes from Dao on March 23, 2013 at 5:30 PM
            “More like,
            Season 1 – Character introductions
Season 2 – ……………but Sena gets the majority and progresses the most.”

You do hate Yozora as character as a whole that’s final. As you do not see rest of gang parts worth mentioning.

Sena fan going hate, as you only see Sena.

          3. Wolff pack

That’s purely because she is cocky. Yozora does those things because she is threatened. Don’t forget that there have been several instances when Sena has stated her doubt that Yozora will beat her.

        3. Dao Post author

          @JustSaying,

That’s not true at all. All the things I say make a point, I don’t say “whatever I want” just because I’m a Sena fan. If anything, you’re saying whatever you want because you don’t like Sena. Also, of course I don’t see the other “gang parts” worth mentioning, you know why? Because they’re not even close to the 2 main heroines, Sena and Yozora. The focused screen time they get is nothing close to the other 2’s.

Clearly you could not handle my reply, so let me post it again. See if you can validate it enough, to reply back to it instead of deleting it.

As I said, life is not a open book. Overall this show is about “friends”, so rest of the gang has as much of a chance.

Seriously, I would really like to know where I said I hated any of characters?, since I did said it more than once, that the whole gang have chance with him, and that they were all worth mentioning. Yet you have set your goal to Sena, as you only see Sena only, just like you said you are a “Sena fan”.

However, you do not want anyone to voice there opinion, which clearly make you undemocratic.

          2. Dao Post author

I deleted your post because it made no sense to me. If all you’re going to do is ramble about how my opinions are “wrong” then I’m not going to bother with even TRYING to make sense to what I was saying.

Also, I respect EVERYONE’s opinion, it’s YOU that isn’t respecting MINE. All you do is say how I’m wrong in every way without any explanation meanwhile I’m trying to explain to you WHY I think what I think.

Also, “vouching” for yourself is kind of sad, don’t you think?

So you’re saying that Yozara, being a complete bitch to Sena a lot, deserves the man because she put alittle effort into something? What did she do? Got a slip, filled it out, then slapped the little nun girl (Maria) into submission. clap. clap.

and i’ll repost my comment ages ago, as examples of how Yozara is a bitch.

“So that makes it ok? Regardless of how she feels or her past, even her present, she doesn’t have the right to take it out on others whom have no involvement in her torment. Not to mention the facts that.. Let’s face it, Sena’s pranks are lame xD

Futhermore, look at what she did to Yukimaru. Ok sure it’s justified now because we know *SPOILER ALERT* that Yukimaru’s a girl, but still.

And think about what Yozara has done! She stepped all over Sena’s back literally (beach house), she got Sena to beg her – even though Sena was being a snob, it doesnlt make it right – (Karaoke episode), and she also played with Sena’s emotion, making Sena think Yozara and her were being friends and understanding eachother (foretelling Sena’s future)

She also bullied Maria quite a bit. Sure Maria was bratting, but she’s a kid for godsake.. And always making Maria run around naked D: (Kabuto introduction episode)

Yozara also decided to run away, that bitch, sent a text message AND RUINED OUR CHANCE TO SEE HOW KODAKA FELT ABOUT SENA *cries*”

The way you refer to her as “meat” shows how you’ve adapted your language to Yozora’s spiteful personality 😀 she reminds me of my ex best friend

All that comes out of her mouth is poison and venom… She judges people based on their appearance (student council president) which is PRECISELY what Kodak hates, she tried to make yukimura less cute, she doesn’t really try to get closer to Kodak, just focuses on eliminating the contestants and being in a bad mood 90% of the time (I could go on and on)… They are so incompatible

Yozora’s chances of being with him have decreased significantly in this second season

And as for “Kobato hating Sena” you are just fitting the anime to your liking
-__- Sena organised her successful birthday party, the present Sena picked out for her was obviously her favourite, she hugged Sena out of shame when Kodak said he loved her play and she didn’t get pissed when *SPOILER* Sena confessed to Kodak (when Kate called him brother, she got pissed)

So yeah I completely agree with the article

      1. Arin

Yozora, indeed, has a spiteful and bitchy personality. Nobody can counter that. Not everything that comes out of her mouth is spiteful and venomous. For example, she defended Kobato’s membership of the club and smacks Sena whenever she goes too far in harassing Kobato.

She doesn’t judge Hinata Hidaka by looks. Read the books, you uncultured swine. Arguably, Yukimura is made MORE cute by the butler and maid outfits.

Yes, Yozora’s chances of being with Kodaka has been significantly decreased. This is a good thing, as she can let go of her fixation on Kodaka and work on her psychological issues.

Kobato hates Sena. Period. However, Kobato can recognize when gratitude is owed, and she gives it to Sena where it’s due. She gets angry at Kate for calling Kodaka “onii-chan” because she’s extremely possessive of her older brother. Sena’s confession was shocking, as can be seen from her facial expression, and she didn’t say anything because the tension was so thick that a tuning fork would have shaken. Sena’s not trying to become Kodaka’s younger sister, she’s trying to become a mate. Kobato doesn’t care about Kodaka’s romantic relationships as much as she cares about familial ties.

You see what you want to see, and not what the characters see. Fix that.

Hoe dare you say that to him/her. This is obviously going off the anime, not the books you ass; just because they have the same name in the same story, does not mean they are the same character. That’s like saying Tsukune from Rosario + Vampire the anime, has the same character and personality as Tsukune from the manga, and trust me, they do not. Yozara in the book is different from Yozara in the anime, and Yozara in the anime does judge by looks. I would give other examples, only, I haven’t watched Haganai in months.
“Arguably, Yukimura is made MORE cute by the butler and maid outfits.”

to be fair.. Everyone thought he was male, so she was still being pretty mean, and it didn’t make Yukimura more cuter to Kodoka because he thought Yukimura was a guy.

          Reply
          1. Arin

Yozora still does not judge only by looks in the anime. It’s made clear, word for word, that she has a thing against popular people, and that’s the reason why she hates Hinata Hidaka and Kashiwazaki Sena so much. I’ll say whatever the fuck I want to Maria if she’s not going to pay attention to the subtle nuances that animation can give that manga and light novels can’t.

Don’t just say “trust me, they do not.” Give me evidence. Show me that Tsukine from the anime and the manga are difference, don’t just expect me to go off your word. That’s senseless. “I would give examples, only, I haven’t watched the anime in months.” Then don’t expect me to take your argument seriously.

Kodaka still thought Yukimura was cute. Don’t tell me you see feminine guys naked in the locker room and you don’t get a hard-on. And don’t forget, Yukimura wanted the change. Re-watch episode 4.

          2. Tyler Caldwell

You made very good points, sorry about the poorly made argument, though I have watched Haganai recently, so I can present are more constructed argument.

Ok seeing it again, I see she didn’t judge Hinata, but just hated her because of pure jealousy “Hinata Hidaka, she’s a third year and this is her second term as student body president, so that should tell you how ridiculously popular she is, she’s smart and good at any sport imaginable… Oh course all the freshman think she’s some kind of goddess.” I haven’t come across her judging anyone else, but she does hate Sena without knowing her only because, again, she’s jealous of her. Sena was mean back, but I strongly believe she did it out of retaliation, I know this because she still trys to be come Yozora’s friend in which case Yozora always plays with her feelings. As we saw in the fortune telling episode, it was evident that Sena just wanted to be Yozora’s friend, and got so upset when she realised Yozora’s ‘fortuning telling’ (and thus her ‘understanding of Sena’) was fake. Yozora may not be judgemental, but even so, she is rude without needing to be, and without knowing the true nature of a person’s characteristics, which is similar to the principles of judging someone by their looks and actions without knowing or intending of knowing the reasons behind them.

There’s no point in arguing about how people change from book to movie/anime because, as I said, I realise she isn’t judgemental. But as for Yukimaru, Yozora got her to wear a maids outfit to get a kick out of it. You can tell by how she explained why Yuki should wear a outfit that it was manipulating words, and had an alternative motive. And when she got him to wear a butler outfit, it was in hopes of making him look less desirable to Kodoka. Yozora’s only desire was to manipulate vulnerable Yuki (vulnerable because she (Yuki) trusted Yozora and got betrayed) so that she’s out of the ‘competition.’ Even though it backfired, the intentions were still bitter.

As for Yozora not being always spiteful and venomous, but majority of the time she is. If you have 11 months of winter and 1 month of Summer, would you call that year a cool year, no you would call it a cold damp year despite the one month of summer, simply because, by comparison, it becomes negligible. This is the same case. She has a few moments of sincerity and consideration, but most were pointed towards Kodoka because of her feelings towards him, and furthermore, we can’t say for sure that Yozora’s attacks on Sena, when she started to get creepy with Kobato, was done to only protect Kobato, but to instead hit Sena and get away with it. Going by the pattern of spitefulness and venom Yozora’s words and actions are towards Sena, it’s more likely Yozora does it out of spite for Sena.

I am going by the anime, and just that. If you wish to argue through information from the light novels, it becomes invalid as the light novels and anime’s intentions may be divergent, as one was created by one person, the writer Yomi Hirasaka (and out of respect for the show, was helped by an illustrator Buriki) whereas the other was directed by Hisashi Saito (first season) and Tohru Kitahata (second season) and planned by Atsushi Iwazaki, Yoshiyuki Murakami, Taiji Misaka, Hisanori Kunisaki, Toru Miura, Takaaki Kidani, Takanori Aki. Both had different people, different amount of people, different deadlines and different styles in which to represent it, therefore, have similar plot, character, setting and etc. but different representations of each aspect in their colour, actions, dialogue and symbolism.

          3. Arin

Tyler, I am just going to shut the fuck up now because I regret wholeheartedly making you watch the piece of shit that was Haganai again to argue a stupid point in a stupid argument on a stupid post (because Yozora/Sena end was declared from day one).

Never feel the need to watch Haganai again. Never feel the need to sacrifice eye and brain cells.

Let’s just go with Yozora is a sympathetic but manipulative bitch, Sena should have won, and Yukimura is a martyr for all involved.

One example is dedicating the next LN (Will there be?) to one of the other girls for misdirection and to lengthen the series. As a fan I would like that, but as a cynic I know that too much of a good thing is bad.

I disagree, how many series actually (whether LN, Anime, Manga, etc.) have had a harem ending.

Zero no ________ Had an interesting run, the ending while nice and seemed off. Anther series that when an odd route was Tenchi Muyo with the harem setup then the MC goes to Tokyo to find someone, that was a wth moment.

The only series I have seen, or read, that has had a harem end was Tenchi Muyo: GXP.

I even think 90% of stuff labeled harem should have been labeled as Love Square/Triangle/etc.

Among all the improbables… Rika is definitely the most probable… She is the one that had the deepest connection with Kodaka, maybe even more than Sena and Yozora… She is the one that understand him the most, and Kodaka also more grateful to her more than anyone else…. They both had shared their deepest part and secrets more than to anyone else, and ultimately… they are definitely the closest friend among the Rinjinbu members.

Yes! I am totally with you on this all the way. The way this entire season has progressed seems to be in favor of Sena. She has definitely developed the most than the other girls. Like honestly the only development I’ve seen with Yozora was her revealing that she and Kodaka were childhood friends and that’s her only card. Well big whoop, Sena was also his childhood friend and much closer so HAH. Yozora hasn’t done anything to tighten her relationship with Kodaka at all really. Unlike Sena of course, she definitely has had way more interaction than any of the other girls tying her closer to Kodaka, even since season 1. I’m basically restating everything you said LOL, but yeah I just feel the same exact way that’s why haha. Anyway, there are way too many factors that tie Sena and Kodaka together than any of the other girls that it just seems so blatant that she would win Haganai. The only thing pissing me off right now is Kodaka himself because of that point that Rika made in episode 10, he does always avoid any sort of affection LIKE WHY KODAKA WHY GDI?! щ(ಠ益ಠщ)

Plus, it would just be horrible if there was this much development in the series for it to end with nothing. IF THAT WERE TO HAPPEN (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

Sorry dude but even with a sound theory, most stories like this will make both male and female MCs together. Strictly speaking, Yozora and Kodoka would be together in the end, more or less. That’s also why there’s a Boku wa Tomodachi + where Sena is the main heroine. Tough Luck, but great evidence thought.

        then how about
S1 = Main girls character introductions
as far as I already see from the anime, only 6 girls that can be acknowledge as the main chara, Yozo, Sena, Koba, Mari, Yuki, Rika
S2 = still stoped at ep 10, so I guess I agree with you, as far as I have see, it’s like sena get the most “impact” than the other in this season, and some new chara introduction as well, ex = Kate, Aoi and I think Hinata can be counted as new chara too, lol

Sorry for the late comment Dao but something that you forgot to mention about why Sena should and will win Haganai is because, other than Rika, Sena is the only other character who has actually come to learn stuff about Kodaka. Yozora stuck on the childhood friend, Rika *SPOILERS* has been perfectly friendzoned *SPOILERS*, Yukimura has is “not worthy” of being Kodaka’s mate or really pursues him like that, Kobato, sadly, is his little sister and always will, Maria, well Kodaka is not a lolicon, I think. The only real competition is surprisingly Kate.

P.S. I curse you for tricking me with that Episode 11.5.

I reckon. Poor Rika. We also got to remember she knows that Kodaka knows Rika’s feels for him, so it’s not just an accidental friendzone, but a proper one xD

While I am standing on neutral ground (not a great fan of harem, BokuTomo is some of the few that I started), I can see where Yozora’s behaviour come from.
If you read the novel, you’ll know that how much effort Yozora put in and how she created the club in the first place was not actually make more friend but to be with Kodaka. You are going well someone you like, you are together with him in the same room, then another girl come in and try to take him away as a third person. Any girl will fight back, it’s natural.

The two main pairings in Haganai is not Sena X Kodaka and Yozora X Kodaka. It’s Kashiwazaki X Hasegawa and Sora X Taka.

    Reply
      1. Otonashi Touka

Well, I’m not sure what Shouko means when she post this, but this is my interpretation.
Sora x Taka means the bond back when Kodaka is still innocent, before Yozora is completely left alone to fend herself, where she develop the tough cover to protect herself and become the mean girl she is today. “Sora” and “Yozora” can be seen as two different person and so is “Taka” and “Kodaka”.
“Kashiwazaki” x “Hasegawa” means the bond from the family that extend into Sena and Kodaka now who are teenagers. Their father were friends from high school, and were totally unaware of the impact of pre-set marriage on their children’s future.
If things go back to Sora and Taka’s time when they were children, and ask “Taka” to choose either a person who is his only friend and another person who calls their friendship irrelevant, no doubt Taka will choose Sora.
However, taking things to the present. (Spoiler from Lightnovel Volum 9, please do not read if you don’t want to be spoilt)

I totally agree with the ones who said that Yozora has been stuck with nothing but her childhood friend card up her sleeve. On the other hand, the interaction between Sena and Kodaka had helped Sena became a better person (I think?) She’s not much of a bitch as she was in the earlier part of the series. Yozora, however, has been consistent with her attitude. True, Yozora’s back story is tragic and all but c’mon. As far as character development goes, Sena wins by a long shot.

I hope Sena wins too, i’m an big fan of her too, she’s cute and very friendly, i hate yozora, first because she so masculine now with her hair cut, and second cuz she an bully she’s mean not only for sena but for everyone, she doesn’t care about anyone only her and kodaka, she an selfish person, and i hate her soo much, she have an terrible personality.

I don’t care if sena have big breats some people say that she in only in anime because of that, but i don’t care, i like her, she so cute and adoroble, and i like the way she is with kobato, they are really cute, yeah kobato may ”hate” sena and may be afraid of her, but at least they know each other, what relationship yozora have with kobato? none!! i never see them together, and kobato may ”hate ” sena now but i think that she likes the atention that sena gives to her, and i think that she will start to like sena, i want so bad and third season.

And sena with kodaka is more cute, even kodaka have more empathy with sena that have with yozora, cuz he know that yozora is really mean to her. And i think he cares about sena.

I’m sorry. I agree with most of what you said but “i hate yozora, first because she so masculine now with her hair cut” how dare you say such a thing! You can have your own taste, that’s fine by me, but to say something that involves a group (and by that, I mean all girls with short hair) is disgusting. I’m a guy with long hair, does that make me feminine and less attractive to girls because of it? If you are, like, 30; get your head out of the past, femininity and masculinity is changing in our, the younger, generation. And why judge someone by their appearance like that. You disgust me. a better wording would be “I don’t find Yozara attracting because 1. her hair cut doesn’t look good on her, and two because she’s a bully…”

Hey, just recently stumbled to this series… only watched the anime til ep4 season 1 tho… I mainly read the novel…

Anyway, I agree with you…. going with the novel, it seems that the story is generally rearing toward Sena’s route… She has the most flag events compared to the rest of characters even starting from volume 1 of the novel with their swimming pool date, heck counting the flags, I doubt Yozora had more flag events than Rika!

People who watch only the anime, might get an illusion that Yozora is the main character, especially with the amount of screentime she is getting and that the op and ed song revolving around her, but if you read the novel… there has been very few romantic or sexually charged scenes between Yozora and Kodaka, even after her revelation as Kodaka’s osananajimi, nothing of really import in relation to that fact ever really took place. And like you said, the author seemingly pulled engaged since childhood and technically also a childhood friends card for Sena and Kodaka to counter Yozora’s backstory and pushing Sena more into the limelight.

Looking at the flow of the story I can’t help but finding Sena as the one in the forefront to capture the ending. Of course, unless the author is a mega-troll and suddenly pull a complete 180.

Anyway, I’m all for Sena ending… I don’t hate Yozora, in fact, depending on how the author words it, I’m sure the depiction of Yozora’s rejection will be heart-rending for me, but all in all Kashiwazaki Semoponume is still in my top 2 chara in this series together with Shiguma Rika.

I think i agree with Sena SHOULD and WILL win the Haganai. Just as mentioned that Sena and Kodaka were a Childhood friend , not just her “Professional” body would make her win , Sena has a very cute personality (I think?) . The another one would be their parent relationship , their parent agree to engaged them so [Fiance] Relationship is another “Point” to Sena x Kodaka. Then according to the LN …

    ****SPOILERS**** SPOILERS ALERT!!
in LN Vol.9 , Kodaka confessed his love to Sena but Kodaka beg Sena to wait . Why? because if Kodaka wen’t out with Sena the Neighbors Club would fall apart. Rika x Kodaka in my opinion is not possible , because in The LN after the battle between Kodaka x Rika , Rika say ” What do you think about Sena-Senpai?” then Kodaka say “I love Sena” . Then Rika smiled and tell Kodaka “If that’s the Case .. You have already know what to do, Right? . From here we got that Rika is support Kodaka , so “Close Friend” would be the corret answer than “Rika love Kodaka”.
    ****END OF SPOILERS****

To be honest , i am a “REALLY BIG FANS” of Sena. so from the theory above “90%” Sena will win. The new other chara like Aoi and Hinata i think would be Sena opponent. So thats all my opinion.
If you still not believe what i say , i can proof ya all . Check http://www.baka-tsuki.org and search Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai , you can find the answer there.

I agree! All very good points. All the chaarcters in Haganai are somewhat flawed but Sena at least in her own way while conceited is a pretty sewwt person when someone really knows her.
Yozora while hate saying this does have somewhat have a bitchy personality that can’t stand. She mean and rude and obnoxious.
Sena may be arrogant but no way on the same level as Sena. Kodaka and Sena also seemed to have an easy way of talking to each other. They actually get each other and if do say so myself Kodaka seems relaxed and at the very least entertained when he talk with Sena.

There are a lot of reasons that a lot don’t like her like how she wanted that sena never existed, which is pretty mean in any level. She is also too hanged up with their childhood friendship yet she doesn’t do anything. If anything their childhood should be less important because she was not true/brave with Taka and left him in the play ground for the whole day. Then she didn’t even told him that she is Sora and blame that taka can’t remember her friend like hell you look like a fcking guy before like he will even consider that it’s you.

    I am on Yozora’s side.

    1. Yozora has been trying forever to get Kodaka to like her back. In a Spinoff manga, She shows Kodaka her armpits just because she wants him to like her, since she thought Kodaka liked armpits, which ended up failing. (Yozora is really touchy and doesn’t like her armpits being touched or she’ll freak out.)

    2. She looked at Kodaka after she watched a movie in episode 2 NEXT, and she learned from Rika that friends kiss too :3

    3. Meat is a bitch. She treats everyone as a damned slave and calles herself a goddess. And a queen. But all she is, is a perverted, lewd slice of Meat. .-.

    4. Yozora is pretty and she doesn’t like her looks as much as meat. She asked Kodaka on a date (Which Kodaka supposed was just them hanging out) and failed, ending up seeing a lewd movie. Then she went to a Cat-cafe and nothing else really happened.

    5. You gotta feel bad for Yozora. She has terrible luck everyday. Example, when Yukimara was a girl, she tried to help her, but messed up twice. She tried to take Kodaka to a romantic movie but ended up at a lewd one. Yozora was embarrassed to be called “Very cute and Girlish Sexy” by Rika, to the point of blushing and hiding behind the seats.

    6. When Yozora found out Meat and Kodaka were engaged, she was terrified. She lost it, and ended up saying “I just Don’t care anymore…” And was sad to the point of sprawling out on the grass and sighing. Then, when Meat confessed, Yozora was so scared to the point of shaking, and ended up running away. Yozora couldn’t take it anymore. Feel bad for HER for once. She treats everyone badly because that’s how she hides her feelings. For Gods sake I hope Yozora gets Kodaka so she doesn’t end up committing suicide.

LOL. I’ve never read a more controversial and subjective blog post in…well, ever.

    1. Utterly and completely irrelevant. Their parents knowing each other has absolutely nothing to do with their personal relationship. Try again.

    2. Yozora has plenty of 1 on 1 interactions with Kodaka too. While I agree that Sena has more 1 on 1 interactions with Kodaka than Yozora it’s not enough to say it’s a “load” more. Try again.

    3. So, let me get this straight. The “ONLY” reason Yozora had an advantage over Sena was because Kodaka and Yozora were childhood friends, right? And you write that in a way that gives off this vibe; “PSH! Like THAT matters!”. If that’s so, then how is Kodaka having met Sena as BABIES any better? It’s not really. He couldn’t remember Sena just like he couldn’t remember Yozora. You’re just throwing contradictions all over this post like it’s confetti. So let me throw that back at you. The ONLY reason Sena currently has an advantage over Yozora is because Kodaka and Sena knew each other as babies. Oh and just because he knew Yozora as a male in the past doesn’t mean he can’t fall in love with the female her IN THE PRESENT. Try again.

    4. Yeah, Kobato hates Sena. Literally. Try again.

    5. *insert rambling here*

As for the last part of your post.
Of course she’s jealous of Sena. Sena could get anything (and anyone) she could ever wish for and she has big boobs to boot, and then she guns for the guy she likes. Who wouldn’t be jealous?
Say stuff to spite Sena? I’m sorry, but did you miss the part where Sena DOES THE EXACT SAME THING TO YOZORA AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY SHE GETS? They’re both equally bad in that regard and you can’t just single out one side because one side is a bit harsher. All that does is make you appear like, as you so eloquently put it in a reply to Matrosh, a typical Yozora hater. So yeah, good job with that I guess.

All in all, Kodaka x Sena is the most vile, cliché and repulsive attempt to force a relationship that I have ever seen in fiction. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about their relationship whatsoever. Oh, and apparently Kodaka loves Sena because BOOBS and hawt body and that speaks for itself really.

For the record, I hate both Yozora and Sena. But I’m personally rooting for Yozora because I always root for the underdog which Yozora currently is.

You and this post is a joke.

      1. Fair point, but also remember that with their parents knowing eachother, they’ve gained more interactions such as Kodaka going to her house etc. etc. and has given them the chance to marry, which under normal circumstances they would never have considered such a thing even if they were going out.

      2. Fair point, but most of Yozara’s interactions haven’t been a bonding type, rather a friendly going out, where as for Sena they have bonded quite a bit, been pretty cute-sy and a lot of the times, they have fun.

      3. Again, another fair point, I myself don’t believe that has any real factor considering they KNEW eachother, and weren’t just close throughout life. And although I root for Sena, and consider Yozara a complete bitch, Yozara has more of an advantage. Sena and Kodaka’s past interactions were pretty insignificant. nothing really happened, they don’t remember it themselves, only know the proof from the photo. Yozara and kodaka’s past, on the other hand, is filled with happy memories of friendship and growth.

      4. ahahah! very very true.

      as for the last part, I’ve said this before so I’m just going to copy and paste because I haven’t watched Haganai in a while, so my memory’s fuzy;

“So that makes it ok? Regardless of how she feels or her past, even her present, she doesn’t have the right to take it out on others whom have no involvement in her torment. Not to mention the facts that.. Let’s face it, Sena’s pranks are lame xD

I agree that the part with Yukimaru was a bit overkill, but I believe it was necessary.

True, but let’s not forget that Yozora prevented Sena from being bullied by a bunch of girls once. She got sent a text by a few girls that said the person in the text wanted to be friends with Sena, but these girls were in fact going to make fun of Sena for thinking someone wanted to be friends with her. Yozora found out about this and went to Sena before the girls arrived and said the “person” had moved overseas and wasn’t going to come, thus preventing Sena from being bullied. I’m not saying this justifies Yozora’s treatment towards Sena but it’s proof that Yozora isn’t a complete “bitch” and “evil” like so many people believe she is. They’re so blinded by the mean things she does that they completely overlook the good things she does.
That and let’s face it; no one likes snobs except snobs themselves.

Eh, I’ve always seen it as Yozora playfully teasing Maria. If she was actually bullying Maria she could do way worse things to her. I honestly don’t consider it bullying.

Sena doesn’t play pranks as often on Yozora because she always fails and it backfires on her. Anyone would be disheartened to try to pull pranks on someone if their pranks always backfire on them.

Like I said, I hate both Yozora and Sena (my Senahater username is just a jab at the OP) and I’m not trying to justify either’s actions. I just think it’s wrong to single out one side when the other side is capable of being just as much of a bitch and evil as the one accused. That and I think the OP is horribly biased and wrong as most of OP’s opinions is subjective drivel with very little factual importance that has no real bearing in Sena x Kodaka and I simply argued his/her points.

not taking any sides here but uhhh.

“Sena’s pranks are indeed lame and they always backfire on her because Yozora’s smarter than Sena.”

I was sure the show went out of its way to illustrate that Sena was the smart one (as she gets the highest grades in the class” you probably should have stated that Yozora is a better manipulator then Sena as Sena is naïve.

I do also agree that the writer will decide who is chosen but another fact is that when talking to Rika on the roof it is stated that he is worried about Yozora’s feelings and his actions could break up the club (even though it practically already had by secluding himself from the group) and the general direction of the show although started with his feels towards his childhood friend Sora, as stated his main point was having a true friend which aligns with the shows constant theme of friendship while Sena although sometimes considered as Fan Service has shown interest and Kodaka says he worried about Sena even at the very beginning of season one (the pool scene) which in most cases when a protagonist is protective of a certain female friend usually ends in some sort of romantic affiliation.

although Yozora does have the whole guilt of leaving her and the tragic story which often causes a deep feels episode which makes the protag feel all sorry for the girl and wanna protect/help them.

I’d personally choose Sena as I like blonde hair and have dated bitchy/damaged women like Yozora which generally does end well…

in saying that Sena is a snobby bitch at times but what is wrong with a little confidence.

Rika is alright but really just serves as a voice of reason.

the competition really is only out of Sena and Yozora, hinata may put a dent in the smooth surface but in the end its not very likely she will become a main heroine.

but that’s just my opinion 😉
          no hate intended

It’s funny because I actually anticipated a response like this. It’s fine, I’m used to getting responses like “tldr” from people who can’t back up their opinions when they realize how wrong they are.

        Have a nice day.

I hope you realize the date of this post and the fact that everything I wrote is irrelevant to me now. As a matter of fact I’m sorry to say but your response doesn’t have much credibility either.

I’ll admit, my post from over a year ago is a bit stupid, self-centered, and obviously written in a way heavily favoring Sena. But your response is pretty much the same shit, unknowingly being ignorant and a child trying to ship fictional characters whereas you’re not even author of the content.

But it’s good to see my old posts generate the flame and tears of a yozora fanboy like it should.

Then why bother writing a blog about it? Kind of defeats the purpose of blogging if whatever you write is going to be irrelevant to you eventually. Hence why I said you and this post are a joke.
Uh huh, and you’ve done a real good job of disproving the “credibility” of what I wrote. Sorry but “tldr” doesn’t quite cut it.

A bit? That’s the understatement of the year. How would you know? You didn’t read it, remember?

Again, how would you know I’m a Yozora fanboy when you didn’t even read my post? All you’re doing is pulling things out of your ass and showing what an idiot you really are. But I guess I’ll humor you. I clearly stated I hate both Yozora and Sena, I simply argued your points because of how stupid and subjective they were. So the joke’s on you.

            But please, do try again.

            Have a nice day.

If it makes you feel any better Sena Hater, after getting over the hole GO FOR SENA thing and rereading this (Cause there’s a new comment) What you said was all true points, and I’ve shifted to still hating Yozora, but understanding why Sena can be considered just as bad (but I can’t say she is only because she sucks at pranking, and it makes her looks more ridiculous than bitchy)

but to my point, Dao, or the OP as you referrer to him/her (I’m not a blogger so I don’t know the Jargan) is being a complete ass and hypocritical, and deserves zero credit for trying to act all ‘cool’ and being all ‘tldr’ yet acting like top shit and arguing back as if he/she read your post.

    2. Matrim

Well if you read the light novels you should hate yozora as she is more of a bitch to sena than any other character I have ever read about in any other series.
I absolutely hate her character,I don’t care about sena but no one deserves to be treated that way .
And do you really think the stuff yozora says is forgivable .I question your morality if you do .Whereas anything sena has done is easily forgivable.
      Rika ftw.

What Sena Hater said made me understand why one can considered Sena bad, but your reasoning is why I could never think of Sena as a bitch. Although Sena does try bad this back, it’s like a tough guy fighting a weak guy, you can’t classify a punch from the weak guy being just as bad, unnecessary and devastating as the tough guy’s punch, even know the weak guy is just as bad for punching the tough guy as he is for punching the weak guy (forget who started it and the reasons behind the fighting), similarly, because Sena does prank Yozora back, she is a bad person, but I can’t consider her a btich for retaliating because she does such a terrible job at pranking

Well… I myself is a Sena fan lol but so far, I think Rika spends a bit more time with kodaka than the other girls :/ I mean, so far she’s da only one who has like kind of admitted her feelings to him to face to face and is by so far da most interesting character lol
    Well erm… Well I ship kodakaXsena :3
All da rest of the heroines r good too but I’m a sucker for blonde girls LOL

So true, if it wasn’t for that last scene where *SPOILER ALERT* Kodaka was about to say something to Sena about his decision of the marriage, and looking happy not sad before he was interrupted. I would think Rika was winning. I mean Kodaka said a few times how good Rika would look in other clothes. Of course he didn’t mean to and was just think out loud, but still xD Not to mention the roof scene where they definately got closer, both noticing things about eachother that the others never even dreamed of like *SPOILER ALERT* the purposeful obviation of everyones feels towards Kodaka, or the constant work Rika does for the club’s activities.

Fair enough reasons for Sena, (hardly iron-clad) but this novel is (happily I must admit) showing signs of non-cliche. Kodaka does love Sena, but it seems to be for ‘meat’ reasons at the moment and he seems to be showing true concern for Yozura and developing a cute relationship with his only official friend Rika. I was scared this story was going to become formulaic. Who wins? who knows, I just hope Hirasaka-sensei keeps rolling with the enjoyable twists. I like Sena, but I have a thing for tom-boy tsundere’s like Yozora. I just hope there’s more Haganai/Boku wa… to come.

Non of the above, the author decided to ruin the series on the last few volumes (primarily because he wanted to rush through it so he could move on to another project). Also dont expect a third season due to the poor reception of his last books. (That is unless the anime decides to completely retcon it.)

when i read the novel,i came to know that kodaka also has feelings for sena(which is pretty obvious). He also likes the other girls…..i mean he just LIKES them….while he LOVES Sena, and Sena only(first love)….like and LOVE are two different things….so if the author ruins Kodaka x Sena relation in the future,THEN I WILL FIND HIM……AND I WILL,KILL HIM! or her….i hope Sena and Kodaka get along together…..

I just wanted to get give my thoughts on this topic because I have recently decided to rewatch the anime. For starters, Rika is the best character in this show, by leaps and bounds. She’s the only one in the club that knows what the hell is going on. Aside from being the only one that understands Kodaka, she works the hardest in the club, as can be seen in the amount of work she put inn for the club’s video. With that said, I think it’s time to move onto the next topic, Yozara or Sena. Upon my first viewing of the show, I really did like Yozora and how she fit the tsundere archetype, but upon my second viewing, I came to really detest her. For starters, she’s a straight up b*tch to Sena and is obsessed with Kodaka and has an imaginary friend in the form of Tomo. Throughout the story, everything she does is geared towards getting closer to him. Despite this obsession, she doesn’t actually do anything, aside from hoping that Kodaka will recognize her as his childhood friend, Sora. In addition, since Kodaka remembers her as Sora, a character he thought was a guy, she is instantly friend-zoned (that tends to be the case between heterosexual males). The fact that Yozora is using her status as a “bro” from his past doesn’t really help her out. Sena, though not the best character, is the better of the 2 and is the most logical choice for Kodaka. For starters, Sena has always been a girl to Kodaka, and they used to play together when they were younger. In addition, their families have close ties to one another, and Sena’s father loves Kodaka (maybe a little too much). Sena has other interests aside from Kodaka, whether it be video game dating sims, Kobato, or her studies, she has things that keep her occupied. Last but not least, Sena actually has character development. In the beginning of the show, Sena began as a pompous b*tch because she had the ideal figure for a woman, had good grades, and was a great athlete. Once she goes on a date with Kodaka in the first season, in the first season, she starts to develop feelings for him and their relationship is taken to new heights as the series progresses, whereas Yozora’s relationship with Kodaka is at a standstill. Over the course of the story, Sena gets closer to Kodaka, while Yozora is chilling in the friend zone. Honestly, the debate as to who he chooses is irrelevant since it is made clear that he has feelings for Sena.

P.S Sorry for the lengthy post.

THANK YOU! That basically sums up all I’ve said throughout this forum.. except I went more into detail about how Yozora is a bitch, but still, I completely and utterly agree with all the points you’ve said. Plus another thing to add that gives Sena and Rika edge over Yozora is that both of them joined the club because they honestly want to make friends, where as Yozora on wants to be with Kodaka, and Yukinari just wants to serve Kodaka basically.

Sena did not win. Kodaka and Yukimura dated for awhile but they broke up and returned to the Neighbor’s Club.

Haganai had the worst possible ending now come to think of it.
Yukimura, only had kodaka’s ‘dokidoki’ whenever he saw her going for herself.
Almost all other candidates in the neighbours club would have faired better. (Sena with kodaka’s lust, Yozora with her past with kodaka. Rika with her understanding of kodaka’s problems)
Now haganai just seems like a circlejerk where nothing ever happens to everyone. It started out strong with each club member developing well but it just lost steam and ran itself to the ground.
That aside, Yozora fan and Yozora is still best girl in my eyes

You guys still missed something important in here , don’t forget that the whole goal of the anime is for the club memebers to make friends , but did yozora even recognise sena as a friend ? Or anyone else beside kodaka ? No ! While sena tries, constantly to be her friend and she never did offend her on her own will , she was just teased several times , it’s natural to react like that and the time when yozora defended kobato it was probably because she was his little sister nothing more , and she was so mean to yukimura treating her like that , i believe that she’s a selifsh jealous devil whom thinks she will gain kodaka byy going missing . And i believe that nothing is gonna happen in the 3rd season because kodaka will try to take the wisest choice to make everyone stay together wich is by rejecting both of sena and yozora buuut in the future kodaka might marry sena . No he will !
